Download GPX Viewer app, for GPX and KML files

The GPX and KML files contain the tracks of the routes and are read by various apps that allow you to view the route on a map and follow the route through the GPS of your smartphone.

Import your KML map data into Google Earth

KML files are also viewable in Google Earth, both from computer and smartphone.

Computer

  1. Using the web browser on your computer, open Google Earth.
  2. On the left, click Projects Project.
  3. Click the New Project button.
    • To add a file directly to your computer, select Import KML File.
    • To add a file from your Google Drive or a shared file, select Import KML file from Drive.
  4. Select the KML file you’d like to view.

The files will be automatically saved to your KML files within Projects.

Android

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Earth app Google Earth.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Projects Project.
  3. At the top, tap Open.
    • To add a file directly from your device, tap Import KML File.
    • To select a file from your Google Drive or a shared file, tap Open project from Drive.
  4. Tap the file you want to add.
  5. To return to the map and view the file, tap Back Back.

iPhone & iPad

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Earth app Google Earth.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Projects Project.
  3. At the top, tap Open.
    • To add a file directly from your device, tap Import KML File.
    • To select a file from your Google Drive or a shared file, tap Open project from Drive.
  4. Tap the file you want to add.
  5. To return to the map and view the file, tap Back Back.
