Sirenuse Trail

Sirenuse Trail

The Sirenuse Trail takes its name from the three Li Galli islets. From here the sirens tempted Ulysses with their fascinating voice.

You can view this trail in the AllTrails app or you can use the tracks:

The Sentiero delle Sirenuse is a panoramic circular route that allows you to cross the southern side of the Sorrento Peninsula enjoying enchanting views: from the Amalfi Coast to the Faraglioni of Capri.

You can do this trek all year round and the trail isn’t difficult. It winds through terraces, valleys and cliffs, mainly on a dirt surface: between vegetable gardens and olive groves, Mediterranean scrub, garrigue, oaks, chestnut trees, pine forests; has a great variety of shrubs and flowers and exceptional spring flowering.

You can follow the path in the direction you prefer. The route lends itself well to various variations, or it can be integrated with other itineraries.

The “classical” route of the Sirenuse Trail starts from via Pontone in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi. Once you have crossed the pinewood Le Tore, proceed downhill along via San Martino to the SS145, Via Nastro Azzurro. After a short stretch along the road, the path resumes immediately after the shrine dedicated to the Madonna.

Once you reach the Pizzetiello promontory, atop the cliffs of Punta Sant’Elia, you can enjoy the closest and most spectacular view of Li Galli, formerly called Sirenuse, the view extends to the left towards the Amalfi Coast and to the right towards Capri with its Faraglioni.

The itinerary continues towards Torca: first through garrigue and then olive groves, you reach the inhabited area of via Monticello, which ends in the small square of Torca. From here, take via Nula and then via Pigna, until you return to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi.
