Lemon Festival in Massa Lubrense

Among the various festivals in Massa Lubrense, during the summer, the “highlight” is undoubtedly the Lemon Festival, where the opportunity is excellent to taste many delicacies of the Massa Lubrense cuisine based on the typical citrus fruit that gives the name at the festival: the oval Massese lemon called “femminiello”. A series of events that take place in the city center, following the flavors of the lemon-scented dishes, the sounds of popular music, the rediscovery of the oldest palaces, streets, typical corners.

Good Friday processions in Massa Lubrense

There are two processions of the dead Christ that take place in Massa Lubrense on Good Friday: the one of the Archconfraternity of Death and Oration of Massa Centro and the one of the Confraternity of San Filippo Neri di Torca. The Good Friday procession is a dramatic and symbolic representation of the passion and death of Christ, a direct filiation of similar medieval representations, enriched and integrated by the theatrical taste introduced by the Spaniards.
