Chapel of Sant’Antonio
Location: Massa centro
The chapel of Sant’Antonio, situated in the homonymous street “Via Sant’Antonio” in Massa centro, is a small chapel with a tiled floor.
It was built in the late 19th century, where a newsstand with a picture of Madonna del Rosario was located, now replaced by a painting representing Saint Anthony of Padua.
The chapel is located at the entrance of the homonymous district that extends towards the nearby hamlet of Santa Maria. This small location was called in ancient times “Gaiano” probably because of the estates of the Roman patrician “Gaius” situated there.
